LIVESTOCK SALES POLICY

By purchasing a live animal from Mooncrest farm, you (the buyer) are agreeing to the following:

Final Sale and Biosecurity Measures All sales are final. To prevent the potential spread of disease and protect the well-being of all our animals, livestock cannot be returned to Mooncrest Farm once they have left the property. We may assist with rehoming, but we cannot make any guarantees.

Buyer’s Inspection and Health Policy The buyer is responsible for inspecting the animal(s) prior to purchase. While we will not knowingly sell a sick or injured animal, it is important to note that rabbits and poultry can hide illness effectively. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your animal with an ongoing medical condition within 24 hours of purchase, we will refund 50% of the purchase price upon receiving proper medical documentation. Documentation must be sent via email to farm.mooncrest@gmail.com or delivered in person and should include the full medical note including diagnosis; an invoice is not sufficient. This policy does not cover injuries or GI stasis, as we ensure that all rabbits are eating on the day of sale.

Veterinary Expenses Mooncrest Farm will not be held responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred after any animal leaves the property. This includes issues arising from transportation or adjustments to a new environment.

Sexing Purchased Rabbits Rabbits are notoriously difficult to sex when young. The buyer is responsible for verifying the sex of the rabbit prior to purchase. Refunds will not be given if the rabbit is incorrectly sexed.

Sexing Poultry We make no guarantees about the sex of purchased chicks/ducklings. All chicks/ducklings are sold as a straight run, unless otherwise noted. If an adult chicken/duck is sold, we have made our best effort to provide appropriate sexing.

Feed Transition Each rabbit will be sold with approximately 14 days worth of their current food to help with the transition. If forage is part of the rabbit’s regular diet, we will supply information about the specific plants or mix. Please note that all changes to feed should be made gradually to ensure the rabbit’s health. The brand of food we are currently feeding our poultry will be available upon request.

No Guarantees No guarantees are made regarding the animal’s future reproductive performance, show career, temperament, size, or other traits. If a rabbit, chicken, or duck is being purchased for exhibition purposes, the buyer is responsible for confirming that animal is free from disqualifications prior to purchase. We cannot guarantee hatching eggs.

Pedigree Documentation All rabbits will be sold with a pedigree. Mooncrest Farm will provide a pedigree printed on paper and/or transferred via Everbreed software. Weights will be updated on the day of purchase. Our chicks/ducklings are not sold with pedigree. We will provide information on the rooster/drake and hen of our purebred poultry as well as lay or hatch dates.

Reservation and Deposit Policy Rabbits, chickens, and ducklings are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a buyer wishes to reserve a particular animal, a 50% deposit is required. Deposits are non-refundable and will be forfeited if the buyer does not arrange a pick-up date within 7 days of the deposit. In such cases, the animal will be made available for sale again.

Rabbit Identification At this time, our rabbits are not sold with ear tattoos. For identification purposes, non-toxic markers will be used in the right ear. This marking is temporary and harmless to the rabbit.

Chicken/Duck Identification We use leg bands for identifying our breeding stock poultry. Chicks/ducklings may have bands on their legs. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure these leg bands are not causing harm after purchase.

Right to Refuse Sale Mooncrest Farm reserves the right to refuse the sale of an animal for any reason.

Transportation Arrangements The buyer is responsible for picking up the animal on the agreed-upon date. Delivery may be arranged at Mooncrest Farm’s discretion. Mooncrest farm does not supply travel cages, you must bring your own.

Interstate Travel It is the responsibility of the buyer to know what is required for moving livestock between states, if needed. Mooncrest farm will obtain veterinary inspection at the expense of the buyer if needed.

Acknowledgment of Responsibilities By purchasing a living animal from Mooncrest Farm, the buyer agrees to provide appropriate food, housing, and wellness care as needed. Mooncrest Farm will not be held responsible for the animal’s care after the purchase is completed.

Dispute Resolution In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before seeking legal remedies. The jurisdiction for any legal disputes will be Dawsonville, GA.

Indemnity Clause The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Mooncrest Farm from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the rabbit’s actions or health after the sale is completed.

Photo Use Consent The buyer agrees that Mooncrest Farm may use photos of the animal taken prior to the sale for promotional purposes, unless the buyer explicitly requests otherwise.
